Here is the second piece I recorded on my recent trip to Uruguay. It is a beautiful short piece called “Un Día de Noviembre” (“A Day in November”) by Cuban composer Leo Brouwer (b. 1939).
Brouwer is amongst the most prolific composer for Classical Guitar of the 20th century. This particular piece was composed in 1972 for a Cuban film of the same name directed by Humberto Solás. Originally, it was composed for guitar, flute, bass and percussion but it was Brouwer himself that later transcribed it for solo guitar. Today it is a piece widely played by classical guitar students all over the world.
